Holiday clubs run throughout school holiday periods for children from three to eight years old who are invited to engage in a range of organised recreational learning activities. Children who participate in our holiday club can expect to enjoy a variety of pre-arranged activities including circus skills, drama and dance, sport, music, art and crafts (including claywork) and visits from the emergency services.

Sessions are offered as follows:

  • 7.45am - 8.30am

  • 8.30am - 1.00pm

  • 1.00pm -5.30pm

  • 3.15pm - 5.30pm

  • 7.45am - 5.30pm

For further details please contact us

These sessions need to be booked in advance. Please note that holiday clubs are extremely popular and fill up quickly as they are attended by children who do not attend the Play Station during term time. Facilities still exist for the under 3s as during term time and need booking in advance; hourly rates apply.

Additional Information

The Play Station is a registered member of the Isle of Wight Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership and also a member of the National Day Nurseries Association. We are regularly inspected by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) to ensure good practice is in place and high standards are met.

Play Clothes

At the Play Station children spend a lot of their time outside engaged in exploring a range of messy activities. These may include sand, water, birdseed, paint and clay. To encourage this please send your child in suitable play clothes that are easy to wash and also provide a set of named spare clothes. We ask that soft shoes or plimsolls are worn in the nursery, with boots or old shoes for outside play. Play Station T-shirts and Polo-shirts are available to buy from the Play Station reception.

Outside Play

We have a spacious, secure and well-equipped outdoor area which all children can use. Each playroom has a covered wooden decking area to allow for play activities, fresh air and exercise - whatever the weather.

There is a full range of bikes and ride-on scooters as well as hoops, balls and other toys. We often bring the sand, water, play-house and other equipment outside in order to enjoy the garden to the full. We also have buggies and prams so that babies can sleep outside or go on short walks around the site.

We like to use the garden as a valuable area for digging and growing plants. Children are encouraged to grow plants from seed.

In hot weather we ask parents to provide suitable sun hats and apply sun cream (SPF50) before bringing their child to nursery. Extra sun cream should be named and brought in for staff to re-apply as necessary.

The Play Station Health and Safety is approved by a Fire Officer’s report and the local Environmental Health Department.
